The Nevada Gaming Commission has issued a license to Entain. The latter operating giant powers BetMGM’s sports betting app, and it is a partner in MGM Resorts International.

The approval of the license application came after the completion of suitability checks for various executives, including CEO Jette Nygaard-Andersen. After a thorough vetting process, the CEO was found to be suitable to join BetMGM’s governing board.

Several key issues were highlighted by the Commission on Entain’s application to provide services in Nevada. This includes the settlement of $20.4M it paid in August from the Gambling Commission in the UK for anti-money laundering failures.

Regardless, the Commission was satisfied that Entain has made the necessary changes in compliance with procedures and the process of law. The relationship between Entain and BetMGM Resorts goes back 2021. The latter had proposed to purchase Entain for $11bn, but the offer was rejected.
