The announcement of the Betting on Our Future Act has made the giant operator, BetMGM, promise it will promote responsible gambling. The new bill was introduced to the House by Democratic representative Paul Tonko, and it will ban sports betting advertising. This includes all forms of electronic communication platforms.
Commenting on the new bill, Tonko said:
“Sports betting advertisements are out of control. Congress needs to reel in an industry with the power to inflict real, widespread harm on the American people.”
To stay on the safe side, BetMGM released a statement explaining how it will tackle the new developments. This will include promoting responsible gambling via messages, banners, social media platforms, and other digital mediums.
The CEO at BetMGM, Adam Greenblatt said:
“We are committed to leading the industry in promoting responsible gaming, which is why we are announcing this unprecedented pledge to spotlight the responsible gaming messaging in our advertising.
“As the legalized sports betting and online gaming industry continues to expand, it is vital that we not only equip players with tools and resources for how to play in a responsible and safer manner, but that we also make a significant commitment to showcasing responsible gaming in our advertising.”
