Founded in 1967, Betfred is one of the well-established bookmaker operators in the UK. The company has confirmed the opening of a new retail sportsbook in Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. It will run the new business in collaboration with Mohegan Sun.
Betfred had been dormant for over two years, and the deal shows its readiness to conquer the US market. Some of the big figures present during the grand launch were UNLV Rebels and Cincinnati Bengals player Elbert Woods.
Woods had the honor of placing the first bet on the Eagles to win the Big Game. Thereafter, there was a meet and greet and autograph signing with fans. This marks the third retail sportsbook this year, after launching others in Virginia and Ohio.
The newly launched sportsbook is operated by Mohegan Casino Las Vegas and managed by Betfred. The new license was issued to Betfred after the CEO, Fred Done, provided evidence to Nevada Gaming Control Board in person. The vetting process was vigorous, but Betfred was eventually approved to provide services. The launch coincides with Super Bowl, so you can visit and access a wide range of betting options, including future, parlays, and props.
